BuzzCity posts 11 percent banner ad growth in Q1

Wireless communities and consumer services provider BuzzCity's advertising network delivered 8.5 billion paid banner ads in the first quarter of 2009, up 11 percent quarter over quarter, according to the results of the firm's Global Mobile Advertising Index. From January through March, BuzzCity delivered 8.5 billion paid advertising banners--4.4 billion were delivered in the Indonesia market (a 23 percent increase over Q4 2008 totals), followed by India (842 million ads, up 16 percent) and the U.S. (527 million, up 38 percent). BuzzCity adds that Q1 growth was also strong in China (130 million ads, up 67 percent) and the United Kingdom (113 million, up 54 percent).
