Microsoft has just announced that its $500 million acquisition of Sidekick-maker Danger has been completed, resulting in the creation of the Microsoft Premium Mobile Experiences division. What exactly does that mean? Well, it's not exactly clear. Premium Mobile Experiences will fall under the Mobile Communications Business unit, itself a division of Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices Division. While this suggests that Danger will continue to crank out consumer-oriented products, one would hope that the Danger staffers are given a chance to mingle with the Windows Mobile folks--it seems like they could use a few tips on how to create a more user-friendly UI.
