Nvidia, earlier this week, confirmed that Samsung will be releasing a netbook based on its Ion chipset. This would load it with heftier graphics capabilities than most laptops, since the Ion chipset comes with an on-board Nvidia 9400M graphics chip--which is the same one used in Apple's MacBook line.
Specifications of the Samsung N510 netbook were not revealed, though it is rumored to come with a 11.6-inch display and an Intel 1.66GHz N280 Atom processor--the latest and fastest currently available. The Samsung N510 is just one of many netbooks that will be released through rest of this year, that break out of the 11-inch mold for low-performance devices as defined by Intel. When that happens, expect more consumer confusion over the differences between laptops, netbooks, smartphones and smartbooks [1].
