Baidu launches faster browser for Android

Chinese search giant Baidu is rolling out Explorer, a new browser promising Android device users significant speed and performance enhancements designed to improve online gameplay and video consumption. Li Mingyuan, general manager of Baidu's Mobile & Cloud Computing division, claims Explorer (available in English and Chinese for devices running Android 2.2 and up) is about 20 percent faster than rival mobile browsers, adding that the company will leverage the browser to drive more traffic through its signature search services.
