Small and midsized businesses often face a few extra challenges with wireless and mobile technology deployments; they often have fewer staff, less time to get up to speed on technology and a bigger fight on their hands to convince company leaders of the business value proposition in wireless. But as two SMB retailers discovered, it's easiest when the corporate leadership is already sold on wireless and when all the issues are deeply reviewed and considered before plugging in access points and handing out mobile devices. While the two retailers used similar security approaches and are benefiting both internally and externally from them, they both had unique circumstances and needs for wireless.
