Hong Kong has one of the most sophisticated and successful telecommunications markets in the world. This has been an important factor in Hong Kong's development as a leading business and financial center. In 2013, the number of mobile service subscribers in Hong Kong was boosted to 17.2 million, representing one of the highest penetration rates in the world at about 238.09%. The number of subscriber of New World Mobility is projected to be approximately 0.68 million, 0.60 million and 0.49 million in 2013, 2012 and 2011 respectively.
