Apple admits to some iPad 2 connection problems on Verizon's network

Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) has admitted that a "small number" of iPad 2 owners are experiencing difficulty connecting to Verizon Wireless' (NYSE: VZ) 3G network.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple is investigating the problem, but declined to say just how many iPad 2s are having problems or whether a fix will be made available. Verizon declined to comment to the WSJ.

While it's not exactly clear what the problem is, it appears that some iPad 2 devices with built-in support for Verizon's service have problems reconnecting to the network after users turn off the connection. A Boy Genius Report claims an Apple software update scheduled to be released in a week is expected to address the problem.

Apple introduced the iPad 2 last month with connectivity options for both AT&T Mobility's (NYSE: T) network and Verizon's network.
