Apple rumored to add Baidu search to iOS

Apple reportedly plans to integrate Baidu search services into its iOS mobile operating system, a move to drive iPhone sales in the lucrative Chinese market. Citing two sources with knowledge of the matter, Bloomberg reports the addition of Baidu fits with Apple CEO Tim Cook's vision to gain a larger toehold in China, which is currently responsible for about 20 percent of the company's sales. Adding Baidu, which handles about 80 percent of all of China's search queries, not only boosts the iOS value proposition but also further distances Apple from its reliance on search services provided by archrival Google.
