Just how reliable do you need your networking gear to be? If you said "blast-resistant," Aruba has your back: the company's new line of "explosion-resistant" access points are designed from the ground up to meet the demands of industrial environments. In addition to wide-range 802.11 coverage (up to 10km), the new products will feature weatherproof enclosures, LED displays that are readable from a distance and a wide operating temperature range (from -22 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit). The new gear has been designed with industrial environments--deep-sea oil rigs, nuclear power plants and large-scale factories--in mind. "These are places with harsh, demanding performance requirements, and high security needs," said Michael Tennefoss, director of strategic marketing at Aruba Networks.
