AT&T launches mobile apps site targeting small businesses
AT&T Mobility (NYSE:T) launched a new website to help entrepreneurs and small businesses more efficiently adopt certified mobile services.
The site, called Mobile Applications for Small Business, includes Buy Now, a feature enabling SMBs to purchase and provision apps directly from the site. To complete a Buy Now purchase, users must have a Corporate Responsibility User business account with AT&T, be authorized to purchase applications on their account and have a valid Premier login. Upon confirmation of an online order, AT&T sends instructions either to the user's email or device on how to deploy, download and activate the app.
Mobile Applications for Small Business also boasts a direct connection to AT&T's interactive SMART recommendations tool, which offers product information, video demos and related resources to help customers identify the best apps for their business. According to AT&T, the SMART interface was recently redesigned to improve navigation and ease of use. The site also offers access to the AT&T Certified Solutions Catalog, featuring more than 500 certified business apps.
From now through May 1, AT&T is offering small businesses who purchase smartphones with integrated voice and data plans a $50 credit when they purchase any one of four mobile apps: Telenav Track, XORA Time Track, ACTsoft Comet and Pronto Forms. The offer is valid with activation and a two-year agreement on qualifying service plans.
The recent AT&T Small Business Technology Poll found that 85 percent of SMBs use smartphones, and about a third rely on business-centric apps.
