Bank of America piloting Visa's V.me digital wallet
Bank of America has signed on to pilot Visa's V.me digital wallet to its online banking customers. V.me enables consumers to make real-world and online purchases via smartphone, tablet or PC. Shoppers simply input their username and password instead of entering their account number, billing data and shipping information for each transaction.
Bank of America customers can enroll for access to the V.me program via the bank's online banking portal. BofA joins V.me banking partners including the Royal Bank of Scotland, BBVA Compass, PNC, TCF Bank and U.S. Bank.
In addition to Visa cards, V.me supports cardholder accounts from rivals MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Consumers can shop at online retailers including 1-800-Flowers.com, Shoebuy.com, Cooking.com, Rakuten.com, Buy.com and Blue Nile. V.me exited beta earlier this month. Release
