Bluetooth vulnerability found in certain HTC smartphones

A vulnerability in HTC smartphones running Windows Mobile 6 and Windows Mobile 6.1 has been found when it comes uses Bluetooth. According to a Spanish security researcher, an HTC driver installed on these devices can allow a hacker to access files on the phone or upload malicious code using Bluetooth. Alberto Moreno Tablado warns these users about connecting to an untrusted device via Bluetooth. HTC handsets running Windows Mobile 5 are not affected. For the attack to work, the targeted device must have Bluetooth enabled and file sharing over Bluetooth activated. Article

I would like to point out that this vulnerability does not exist in ALL HTC Smartphones running Windows Mobile 6. Models that use the Widcomm Bluetooth Stack provided by Broadcom Corporation (such as the Touch Pro 2) do not contain this vulnerability.
