CBS premieres full-episode streaming app for iOS
CBS Corporation is rolling out the new CBS App for Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone and iPad, promising users full episodes of the Tiffany Network's primetime, daytime and late-night programs.

The free CBS App offers streaming access to series including NCIS, The Good Wife, How I Met Your Mother, The Young and the Restless, and The Late Show with David Letterman. Daytime and late night programming will be available within 24 hours after initial airing, while most primetime shows will be available eight days after broadcast. CBS is launching the app in partnership with Buick, promising reduced commercial interruptions during its initial weeks of availability.
The CBS App also will absorb second-screen features from the existing CBS Connect App in time for the 2013-14 fall TV season to begin. At that time, the CBS App will offer integrated social feeds, live interactions with CBS talent and bonus content experiences synced to primetime broadcasts of selected series like CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Hawaii Five-O.
CBS said it plans to plans to introduce similar full-episode streaming apps for all major smartphone and tablet platforms in the months ahead, singling out Google's (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android and Microsoft's (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows 8.
