Cellufun rings up $3M Series A

Ad-supported multiplayer mobile game service provider Cellufun announced it secured $3 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Longworth Venture Partners. According to Cellufun, it will earmark the financing to develop its product line, increase external marketing efforts and support enhanced sales--traffic to its WAP site has grown to 15 million page views per month, tripling over the last three months, the company added.

"Longworth conducted detailed research and analysis of the mobile social networking space and is convinced that Cellufun's early success will make it a leader in this emerging market segment," said Longworth partner Nilanjana Bhowmik in a prepared statement. "We believe the company's platform and model will enable it to become the leader in mobile social communities focused around fun and competition."
