Where Microsoft's headed with mobility
With the constant headlines about vendor moves with mobile products, services and strategies, it's easy to get confused when it comes to figuring out how everything is fitting together. And it's rare to find a good in-depth look at one vendor's strategy, but that's exactly what I caught while news trolling this week. NetworkWorld's article on Microsoft's mobile platform and services approach is a clear view on where Redmond hopes to squeeze into the industry and how it intends to mark a huge territory. Microsoft clearly wasn't the first or second player on the bandwagon tying the enterprise to the mobile computing environment, but given its resources, revenue and incredible ability to sneak in the back door of an industry (think IT security) it's clearly going to be a formidable competitor. -Judy
