EMM vendors beef up offerings with mobile telecom expense management

Enterprise mobility management (EMM) vendors are adding mobile telecom expense management to their offerings, according to a report by Kable.

The report notes that mobile device management (MDM) vendors began adding mobile application and content management to their enterprise offerings, and are now adding mobile telecom expense management to provide a complete mobility suite to enterprises.

Other areas that are being added to the market include machine-to-machine communications and wearable computing devices.

The report finds that most CIOs are devising strong BYOD policies for their organization in order to improve employee satisfaction, productivity and cost optimization, while ensuring a secure corporate environment.

Kable notes that the top EMM vendors contributed 37 percent of total revenues last year, up from 35.7 percent in 2012. Market research firm Radicati Group predicts that the EMM market will reach $3.1 billion by 2017, up from $838 million in 2013.

In its Magic Quadrant report, Gartner identified the leading EMM vendors as AirWatch, Good, IBM and MobileIron, with SAP as a challenger and SOTI, Symantec and Sophos as visionaries.

"As enterprises' use of mobility becomes increasingly complex, their requirements to protect data and support users will become more complex as well," the Gartner report concludes.
