Enterprise demand for mobile CRM applications has more than tripled since 2007, research finds
Enterprise demand for mobile customer relationship management and sales force automation applications has more than tripled over the past five years, according to a recent report by the Yankee Group.
More than two-thirds of businesses use these mobile business apps today, up from marginal deployment in 2007, noted the Yankee Group report--Demand Triples for Mobile Business Apps, but Enterprises Must Deploy Strategically.
Mobile unified communications applications, which are the least widely deployed mobile apps in the enterprise currently, are forecast by Yankee to take off this year.
"Business should create a mobile app that cuts across an entire day in the life of an employee, integrating critical siloed, frequently used apps such as calendar and e-mail, customer contact info, case history, pricing, current opportunities, etc.," Sheryl Kingstone, director at the Yankee Group, advised enterprises.
To capitalize on this growing demand for mobile CRM apps, Exadel announced last month that it was adding an Appery.io plug-in for Salesforce, available via Salesforce Mobile Packs, to ease the development of mobile CRM apps for enterprises.
Gartner also predicted recently that the number of mobile CRM apps downloadable on app stores will increase 1,200 percent by next year.
