Fandango, Samsung team on mobile movie ticketing

Movie ticketing platform Fandango is partnering with Samsung Electronics to integrate ticket sales, showtimes and previews into the mobile device manufacturer's Here & Now content recommendation service, rolling out with its Galaxy Note 3 phablet.

Here & Now, which delivers consumer tips based on contextual information and location factors, will support Fandango ticketing options for thousands of theaters across the United States, as well as the original movie preview series Weekend Ticket, which features trailers and related video content.

More than 37 million subscribers have downloaded Fandango mobile apps for platforms including Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS and Google's (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android. Mobile now represents 44 percent of the firm's overall sales, up 75 percent year-over-year. Release
