Fortumo extends in-app payments to Windows Phone
Fortumo is bringing its mobile payments platform to Windows Phone, enabling developers to integrate in-app purchase functionality into applications written for the Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) mobile operating system as well as Windows 8 and Windows RT using a single SDK.
Windows Phone developers can leverage the Fortumo SDK to offer premium in-app goods like virtual currencies, extra levels and power-ups. Fortumo's two-click checkout process asks consumers to enter their credit card information only the first time they make an in-app purchase and does not require them to leave the app, improving the user experience and boosting monetization.
Fortumo boasts connectivity with more than 300 mobile operators in 80 countries and has added more than 72,000 registered merchants over the past five years. Earlier this week, Fortumo announced it is teaming with Barnes & Noble to offer IAP capabilities across Android applications optimized for the bookseller's Nook tablets and e-readers. Release
