Good Technology introduces security platform for apps developers
SAN DIEGO--Good Technology introduced a new security platform to help application developers create mobile apps with built-in security.
Called Good Dynamics, the platform is targeted at independent software vendors (ISVs), system integrators (SIs) and apps developers that want to target the enterprise. Companies can register to join the Good Dynamics Developer Network program, which includes direct development access to the Good Dynamics software development kit (SDK) and network operating center (NOC) infrastructure, resources and customer support required to build and manage secure mobile apps.
John Herrema, senior vice president of corporate strategy with Good Technology, told FierceMobileIT during this year's CTIA IT trade show in San Diego that apps developers can easily bring enterprise-focused apps to market because they don't have to build in the enterprise security mechanisms such as encryption and authentication in the apps themselves. In addition, The Good Dynamics technology gives enterprises the ability to manage their security policies across the apps.
Developers plug Good Dynamics' code libraries into their applications to create a secure "container" around the application and all of the data it holds and accesses. Good Technology maintains the NOC infrastructure, resources and support staff, which eliminates the need for customers to add systems, space and people. Good Dynamics secures applications and data end-to-end. In the event of a security breach, businesses can kill the Good Dynamics-enabled application without compromising music, photos, and other personal data present on the mobile device, Good said.
Partners in the Good Dynamics Early Access Program include Aji, Accellion, Box, GroupLogic, MeLLmo, Pyxis Mobile, Quickoffice and Unisys, as well as a number of Good's enterprise customers in the financial services, government, health care, manufacturing and high tech sectors, Herrema said.
Pyxis is integrating its mobile enterprise application platform (MEAP) with the Good Dynamics platform to enable global corporations to build their own secure apps. Unisys has integrated Good Dynamics with its custom mobile apps for enterprises.
