Google updates search interface for tablets

Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) updated its search interface for tablets as part of the design overhaul project it began in June. The update includes a simplified layout of search results and larger versions of page contents, including text and buttons.

The new search interface has larger image previews.

"The search button located below the search box provides quick access to specific types of results like Images, Videos, Places, Shopping and more," wrote Xiaorui Gan, a Google software engineer, on the Google blog

Search results for images also now provide larger image previews and continuous scrolling capabilities, as well as faster loading of image thumbnails.

The updated Google for tablets also includes the black navigation bar already available to users using Google on desktops and laptops.

The new search interface is available on tablets running Google's Android or Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS.
