How to determine if wVoIP's a good fit
Cheap wireless connectivity is a tempting technology, but as enterprises are quickly realizing, it can also have some major flaws. The next generation in telecommunications is the promise of wireless Voice over Internet Protocol (wVoIP). It can boost call quality by prioritizing voice over data. In fact, one mobile device maker has put a phone on the market for the technology. As experts and industry watchers explain, wVoIP is still far from perfect and likely not a practical option for most businesses' mobile worker teams yet. That's because it's lacking when it comes to coverage area, and VoIP vendors are still wrestling with federal requirements to implement emergency calling services. But the ability to include location tracking is proving to be a bit harder than most thought. Still, there are some promising advancements being made that tech leaders would be wise to keep on eye on. Article
