HP re-enters US smartphone market

Hewlet-Packard is re-entering the U.S. smartphone market via a 3G worldphone on the AT&T network.

Available in the coming weeks, the HP Glisten, which runs on Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, will become available via AT&T business services, HP corporate sales and third-party sites. Sales through AT&T's own retail stores and other retailers aren't included.

The device features AMOLED touchscreen and a full Qwerty keyboard for $180 after a $50 rebate and a two-year data plan. AT&T has yet to announce when the device is available. The device also includes an integrated inbox that summarizes recent emails, calls and SMS as well as a web browser with flash support, GPS and Wi-Fi.
