HP releases new low-priced business laptops
Hewlett Packard has rolled out a new line of low cost business laptops with a price-performance package set to raise the bar for makers of netbook computers. With features such as a 14-inch display, optical drive, integrated webcam and an AMD processor, the HP ProBook 4415 has a list price of just $599.
Customers can choose to have Windows XP or Windows Vista preinstalled, or even Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11--which should come even cheaper. In addition, security software is also included that purports to use Department of Defense algorithms to permanently wipe sensitive files and folders from the hard disk drive.
