There are numerous drivers and barriers for enterprises investing in BYOD. The drivers concern productivity gains and costs savings, while the barriers focus on support and security.

Numerous surveys have shown that BYOD security issues are upper most in the minds of IT pros. According to a survey of 1,600 members of LinkedIn's Information Security Group, three-quarters of respondents said loss of company or client data was their top security concern with BYOD, followed by unauthorized access to company data and systems at 65 percent and fear of malware infection at 47 percent.

Moka5, a desktop virtualization firm that provides a containerization solution for BYOD, has put together an infographic laying out at the macro level three BYOD drivers and three BYOD barriers.
