iPhone SDK delayed?

BusinessWeek, the publication that originally broke the story of the iPhone SDK, is reporting that the SDK could be delayed. As you'll recall, Apple CEO Steve Jobs promised a software development kit in February--that gives the company less than a week to make good on that promise. "I'm also hearing that the situation is fluid, and a lot of last-minute decisions are close to being made about what precisely will or will not be disclosed next week, if anything," BusinessWeek's Arik Hesseldahl writes. "There are, apparently, a lot of moving parts to something this complex." It remains to be seen whether Apple will make an announcement before the month's close or if it will simply keep quiet until the SDK is ready for release. The iPhone SDK could prove quite valuable to the few IT departments that officially support the iPhone, as it will allow businesses to write custom applications that can be run natively on the device.
