It's finally here: Let the 700Mhz auction begin

 

It's time for the first wave of hype to end, and the next wave to get started. Yes, I'm talking about 700Mhz, which should kick off with the most highly-anticipated auction we've seen in recent years. The question now is just how the auction is going to proceed, with one significant bidder already on the sidelines and the others milling around trying to figure out just what the market is going to do. With any luck at all we'll have some answers in a week's time, and can start making our plans for the the wave of RF communications to smart devices and laptop computers. No matter what form the answer takes, it's an iron-clad cinch that there will be significant changes in the industry. Speaking of significant changes, there are some exciting changes on the horizon for IT-Wireless, which you'll learn about next week. This does mean, however, that I'll be signing off as editor of IT-Wireless and moving on new projects. I've enjoyed the opportunity to bring you wireless news for nearly a year and I'm sure that your new editor will keep you just as up to date on this fast-moving industry as I have.
