As AT&T swallows Cingular, it's worth looking at other wireless mergers to see what works and what doesn't. Sprint's takeover of Nextel is an example of a marriage that has yet to become heavenly. The big lesson? Do everything possible to avoid customer churn: When you lose 300,000 customers in a single month, it's hard to turn a profit.
