You now how you can smell the rain before a Summer storm hits? Well, right now, you can almost smell the new phones ready to wash down from the cell phone industry. This is the month of the iPhone and instruments that share its sleek looks and advanced features are joining it in what should be the wildest product introduction season we've seen in years. Consumers will be the first to feel the deluge as early adopters camp out to garner one of the 3,000,000 iPhones that analysts say will be ready on Day 1. Corporations will follow, though, as application developers look for ways to mold the sleek user interface into a solid business application platform. There will be stumbles but in the end, we'll all win as the cell phone becomes a more capable platform across a wide technology front. The battle for true smartphone supremacy is ready to begin--I can hardly wait.
