Motorola is poised to introduce a tablet based on Google's (NASDAQ: GOOG) next-generation Android Honeycomb operating system at the Consumer Electronics Show next month. The company released a video on YouTube, entitled "Tablet Evolution," that knocks competitors and concludes by having a honeybee buzz over a hooded display marked with the Motorola logo.

The device is likely the same tablet Android creator Andy Rubin showed off in San Francisco earlier this month while speaking at the D: Dive into Mobile show. He offered a peek at a Motorola Android tablet based on Honeycomb. At the time, Rubin indicated that the tablet includes a dual-core Nvidia 3D processor for 3D graphics, gaming and multimedia applications.

His demonstration included screen icons that displayed Google Talk video chat and the next version of Google Maps for Android, which is now available on Android handsets. On tablets, the new Google Maps will provide 3D mapping. Content will be drawn in real time on smartphones and later tablets. Users will have the ability to download their entire routes in seconds, Rubin said.
