Motricity to power smartphone content delivery for Virgin Media
UK quad-play service provider Virgin Media will leverage mobile content solutions provider Motricity's mCore MobileCast technology to deliver real-time, relevant media across a range of smartphones. According to Motricity, MobileCast enables operators and enterprises to offer a host of content types (including HTML5, audio, video and text) to device platforms including Android, iOS, BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7--the solution also includes publishing tools promising more efficient marketing campaign design as well as reporting and insight generation tools. Virgin Media said it will implement MobileCast to supply zero-touch access to desired mobile applications, goods and services, all delivered directly to the subscriber's "phonetop."
Earlier this year, Motricity announced an agreement to acquire mobile marketing software platform provider Adenyo for $100 million. The Adenyo platform promises enterprises, brands, media companies, advertising agencies and mobile operators a channel to deliver highly targeted mobile marketing and advertising campaigns--partners include McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Ford Motor Company, Paramount Pictures, Garnier and Bouygues Telecom. According to Motricity, the deal enhances its efforts to offer operators and enterprise customers a full range of mobile data service solutions across its cloud-based managed service platform.
