NBC convention coverage goes mobile
NBC and its affiliated networks including MSNBC, CNBC and NBC Mobile announced plans to broadcast more than 200 hours of news coverage from the upcoming Democratic National Convention (taking place August 25 to 28) and the Republican National Convention (September 1 to 4). NBC said its NBC News 2 GO mobile TV channel (available via MediaFLO) will carry MSNBC's live coverage throughout the day and in primetime, while NBC Mobile will clip and refresh programming with MSNBC content throughout the evening. The MSNBC slate will include 20 hours of live coverage during each day of both conventions, beginning at 6 a.m. ET with Morning Joe--Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews will anchor the network's primetime coverage beginning at 7 p.m. ET, with coverage continuing until 2 a.m. Anchors including Brian Williams, Tom Brokaw, Andrea Mitchell, Chuck Todd, Dan Abrams and Norah O'Donnell will all contribute live from the conventions as well.
