Nokia completes Symbian handoff to Accenture


Nokia (NYSE:NOK) has completed its efforts to transfer its Symbian software activities as well as about 2,300 employees to global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing firm Accenture as part of the handset maker's ongoing global workforce and site operations consolidations alignment. Per terms of the deal, Accenture will provide Symbian-based software development and support services to Nokia through at least 2016. In addition, Accenture will partner with its Avanade technology services unit to supply additional services to Nokia. Release
