Nokia announced its first foray into the netbook market, introducing the Nokia Booklet 3G. The netbook will operate on the Windows operating system and is powered by the Intel Atom processor.

It is interesting that Nokia's netbook will use Microsoft's Windows operating system, considering Nokia's investments in Linux for its Internet Tablet line of devices as well as rumors that it would use Google's Android platform for netbooks. Nokia has long rested its smartphone efforts on the Symbian OS, but it appears to be changing its platform strategies as it enters new device markets. Nokia and Microsoft recently announced a partnership that creates a mobile version of Microsoft Office on Nokia smartphones based on the Symbian platform.

The mini-laptop also comes with an HDMI port for HD video out, a front facing camera for video calling, integrated Bluetooth and an easily accessible SD card reader. Other features include the 10-inch glass HD ready display and integrated A-GPS. The device is also designed to work with Nokia's Ovi services.
