Nokia launches Glance Screen.

The Nokia Glance Screen beta enables Lumia 925 owners to view the current time and battery level on the screen even when the device is not in use. A double tap on the standby screen wakes the phone up, making it easier to unlock.

Nokia unveiled the Lumia 925 last month. The smartphone touts a 8.7 Megapixel PureView camera with six Carl Zeiss lenses, promising clearer, sharper photos and videos as well as support for Smart Camera, which promises users the tools to create higher-quality photos by taking a series of rapid-fire shots then editing the best elements of each image together, further bolstered by filters and effects. The Lumia 925 also touts Hipstamatic's new Oggl photo sharing app, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) Office, Nokia Music and navigation services like Here Drive+ and Here Maps.

The Lumia 925 will initially go on sale in Germany, followed by other European markets and China before expanding to the U.S. T-Mobile US (NYSE:TMUS) has pledged to carry the smartphone domestically.
