ON24 expands enterprise webcasting platform to mobile devices
ON24 is optimizing its enterprise webcasting platform for mobile audiences, citing increasing user access and engagement across iOS and Android devices.
The new Enterprise Mobile Webcasting leverages the HTML5 web standard to deliver enhanced, real-time webcasts to all smartphones and tablets.
"We are utilizing HTML5 and mobile access to knock down the walls that exist between people and information, delivering a mobile experience that makes it easy for attendees to access both live and on-demand webcasts from anywhere, at any time and on any device, without the need to install apps or download software," said Jayesh Sahasi, ON24 chief product officer and chief technology officer.
ON24 is also introducing a new mobile webcasting console, enabling content producers to deliver webcasts regardless of their current location. The HTML5-based console is designed for viewing via the mobile form factor.
More than 30,000 people accessed the ON24 platform from mobile devices in the last month. "According to our data, webcast attendance increases more than ten percent when mobile access is offered--an automatic and no-cost ROI enhancement," Sahasi said. ON24 data also notes that mobile webcast viewers ask 20 percent more questions than their desktop counterparts.
Devices running Apple's iOS are the preferred choice for viewing webcasting content in the enterprise: 80 percent of all mobile attendees access webcasts using an iPhone or iPad, ON24 said.
iOS users also attend webcasts at a rate of four times higher than Android users and register for webcasts at a rate of three times higher than Android owners. While iOS dominates enterprise mobile webcast traffic across the globe, its lead over Android is even greater in Europe and Australia than in North America and Asia, ON24 added.
