Palm Pre could arrive May 19th

The rumor mill is grinding again, and this time it involves the much anticipated Palm Pre. Initial speculations have pegged a release somewhere within the month of May, though Sprint was able to maintain secrecy of the actual date so far.

It seems Palm and Sprint are scheduled to make a big announcement on May 19th, next Tuesday, according "a very proven tipster" known to the folks over at the Boy Genius Report. While nothing is known about the big announcement planned on that day, what else could it be?

In other Palm Pre news, Tony Peric over at preThinking has had some individual time with a fully-functional Palm Pre. Though he was not allowed to take photos or discuss specifics, the verdict was that the user interface of the Smartphone was intuitive and easy to use. More importantly, the multi-tasking capabilities of the Pre are much better than any other Smartphones out there, if Peric is to be believed.

His personal conclusion: "The Palm Pre is going to be one of the best phones for 2009 in its class." I suppose we will know soon enough if the rumored May 19th release date is accurate.

Do you know the difference between an announcement and a product release? An announcement is rumored for May 19 -- BGR said *nothing* about a May 19 release date.

yeah it would make no sense to have a surprise release like that
