Pandora premieres iPad ad platform

Personalized digital radio service Pandora announced the introduction of a new advertising platform optimized for Apple's iPad, promising brand partners in-app campaigns that leverage the tablet device's rich video, audio and interactive capabilities. According to Pandora, the iPad platform boasts tools to hyper-target consumers by gender, age, location, time of day and musical preferences--in addition to the iPad, advertisers can stream audio, video, direct response or experiential creative across devices like smartphones and PCs. Starbucks, Lexus and Budweiser have already signed on for the program.

Pandora is powered by the Music Genome Project--the service offers customized streaming playlists based on each user's favorite songs, artists or genres, with a content library spanning hundreds of thousands of tracks. Pandora reports that more than 50 million U.S. consumers now tune in to its solution.
