Multimedia messaging app maker Pinnatta has completed a Series A financing round valued at $1.5 million. Odyssey Venture Partners and PJ Tech Catalyst led the round. The startup previously raised $700,000 from private investors.

The free Pinnatta app, available for Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone and Google's (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android, lets users send interactive greetings including customizable voice and text features as well as animations and music. Pinnatta messages span from everyday greetings and sentiments to messages optimized for specific holidays and events. "Pinnatta is the only app that uses the latest smartphone and operating system capabilities to offer interactive messages that require recipients to shake, swipe, pinch, or blow on their phones in order to reveal the message," co-founder and CEO George Spanoudakis told VatorNews.

Spanoudakis said Pinnatta will leverage the funding to update its current app and plans to expand to Apple's iPad tablet and Microsoft's (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows Phone platform later this year. Article
