Report: Ballmer to show off Windows 7 tablets in January
The tablet news continues: Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) CEO Steve Ballmer is expected to demo tablet computers running a version of Windows 7 during the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in January, according to The New York Times. One of the devices is supposed to be a Samsung model with a slide-out keyboard.
The Samsung device is reportedly "similar in size and shape" to the Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPad, but "not as thin." The slide-out keyboard is said to be "unique" and "slick." Ballmer is also supposed to be showing more tablets from Dell and other manufacturers. The tablets are expected to be targeted primarily at business users, the report said.
