Rhapsody expands music app to BlackBerry smartphones

On-demand digital music solutions provider Rhapsody extended its premium mobile service to the BlackBerry platform, promising users unlimited access to a catalog spanning 10.5 million tracks. Priced at $9.99 per month, Rhapsody for BlackBerry--which follows on the heels of applications for the iPhone and Android platforms--offers over 200 genre-specific streaming music stations along with charts spanning top tracks, albums and artists, new releases and editor recommendations. Subscribers may access all Rhapsody content directly from the BlackBerry homescreen, which also boasts Search, My Playlists and New This Week features.

In related Rhapsody news, the firm released an updated version of its iPhone application. The revamp touts one-click access to full album downloads, complete with offline playback capabilities.
