RIM experiences second outage in less than a week

Research in Motion experienced its second outage in several days. The latest occurring yesterday and impacting users in North and South America, RIM confirmed.

The problems prohibited users from receiving emails, while others reported problems with BlackBerry Messenger.

"Some BlackBerry customers in the Americas are experiencing delays in message delivery," RIM said in a statement. "Technical teams are actively working to resolve the issue for those impacted. RIM apologizes for any inconvenience experienced by customers."

The previous outage occurred last week and users then were unable to receive or send email messages.
