RIM ringing on office phones

We know you love your Blackberry--who doesn't? What if you could get the same sort of features you now enjoy in your portable Blackberry in your stodgy old office phone? That's the sort of question the engineers at RIM asked just before they came up with the Mobile Voice System (MVS), which allows office phones and mobile phones to be integrated into a single, seamless voice communications system. A single phone number that works across all phone platforms, enhanced security, and the ability to work with a variety of vendor's IP-PBXs are three of the benefits that RIM says will accompany the new system. If RIM can avoid a repeat of last month's massive outage, then a real win is possible for the new system.
