Rumor has it that iPhone 6c is coming in April next year

Rumor has it that Apple is working on a 4-inch iPhone 6c smartphone that it could released in April 2016.

Tongues have been wagging for weeks on a possible iPhone launch slated for early next year, but a glance at a launch calendar from Apple's carrier partner China Mobile has possibly tipped Apple's hand, according to a report at AppleInsider.

At a recent presentation by China Mobile, Chinese website MyDrivers pointed out a slide with an April 2016 launch date for an Apple handset, according to AppleInsider, which picked up the story from GagdetzArena.

Both MyDrivers and GagdetzArena labeled Apple's possible new handset as the iPhone 7c, but the latter has since corrected it to iPhone 6c, because, as AppleInsider pointed out, it would seem strange for Apple to release an iPhone 7c before an iPhone 7 was on the market.

Earlier this month, 9to5Mac cited anonymous sources when it reported that Apple will have a March 2016 event announcing the second generation of Apple Watch and a 4-inch iPhone.

Rumos put the iPhone 6c on the lower-end of the spectrum for Apple devices (about $499). It is expected to be powered by an A9 processor and support Apple Pay, according to AppleInsider.
