Sprint Nextel (NYSE: S), which has been relatively quiet on the device announcement front so far this year, appears poised to make a slew of device announcements during this month's CTIA Wireless trade show in Orlando, Fla.

According to the blog Engadget, which cited an unnamed source, Sprint is expected to introduce a WiMAX version of the Samsung-built Nexus S called the Nexus S 4G. In addition, the blog reported that Sprint will launch two new products under the Evo brand, including the Evo 3D, a 3D smartphone, and the Evo View, which is likely to be a CDMA version of HTC's Flyer tablet. Additionally, the blog found that a Sprint web address related to the Nexus product name revealed a "coming soon" message.

Steve Elfman, Sprint's president of network operations and wholesale, told attendees of the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom conference last week that the company will have a strong lineup of tablets in 2011. "We have the PlayBook from RIM and we have a few others coming out as well from different manufacturers. Look for something from CTIA."
