Skype users can now send and view Office documents within the Skype iOS application, according to a Skype blog post authored Tuesday.

Last October, Microsoft announced the ability to message or video call your Skype contacts within Office Online and Outlook.com. Now, users can send, view and download Office files directly in the Skype iOS app.

This could be particularly good for business users who need to check out and download Office documents while chatting on the go.

The Skype 6.10 update also lets users save and share Skype video messages.

As VentureBeat pointed out, this news won't stop the presses, but it does prove that Microsoft is making a real effort to create a cohesive product line. To add to this, Skype noted in its blog post that the ability to have group calls on mobile devices is still set to roll out soon.
