Smartphones grow in popularity

You can see it in the hands of your friends and co-workers: the smartphone is becoming the preferred device type for a growing number of users. One big reason: manufacturers have finally figured out that customers don't want to have to crack an inch-thick owner's manual just to use their phone. Simplicity, coupled with high functionality, seems to be the ticket for future growth in the segment. With a good enough user interface, ubiquitous Internet connectivity could finally be here. Now, if the smartphone could just do something about those pricing plans…
