Socialize, the parent firm of do-it-yourself mobile app creation platform AppMakr, unveiled a new software development kit enabling iOS and Android programmers to add in-app social networking layers to their new and existing applications.

The Socialize SDK touts turnkey mobile social networking features enabling consumers to connect with users sharing similar interests and interact via channels like Facebook, Twitter and email. All likes, shares and comments become trackable trends that Socialize maps on its Interest Graph, which links users according to their common behaviors and preferences. Socialize states that by fostering consumer interaction and discovery it can increase app usage and engagement by 54 percent. The Socialize SDK for iOS is available for download here; the Android SDK is here.

Socialize reports that partners have now built more than 4,000 applications on the AppMakr platform. Clients include Newsweek, the PGA Tour, PBS, Harvard Business Review and the U.S. Congress.
