Sony Ericsson releases WinMo 6.5.3 device

Sony Ericsson released one of the first smartphones to run on version 6.5.3 of Microsoft's Windows Mobile OS called the Aspen, which is part of the company's more environmentally friendly devices. The device features both a QWERTY keyboard and a 2.4-inch touchscreen and includes a 3.2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and HSPA. WinMo 6.5.3 is supposed to feature improved web performance with faster web page downloading and is designed to be more suitable for touchscreen phones, Microsoft said. But Aspen buyers won't be able to take advantage of all of those improvements, since the smartphone has a resistive touchscreen that Sony Ericsson has not enabled for multitouch gestures. Article
