BYOD can provide a built-in disaster response plan, observed Colin O'Donnell, chief operating officer at Control Group. One of the side benefits of allowing BYOD is that it provides a ready-made approach to disasters, such as the recent Hurricane Sandy, he wrote in a blog. If employees are already bringing their own devices to work and are able to work from home more often as a result, then it is hardly a break in the routine if they work at home when their office is flooded.
